Social Security must evaluate SSDI cases on occasion to determine if the case is still valid and the benefit recipient is still entitled to benefits. If it is determined the case is still valid, benefits will continue without interruption. Ability to work is also reviewed.

Social Security will be looking for signs that a benefits recipient is able to work, and if so, the type of work they can do.  If it is determined that an overall condition has improved and work is once again possible, benefits will stop.

During review processes like this it is important to be upfront and honest. Benefit recipients are notified once the review process is over.
