If someone offers to help you apply for Social Security Disability benefits in exchange for an upfront fee,
it’s a strong indication of a scam.

Legitimate representatives (such as accredited disability advocates or
licensed attorneys) only collect fees if your claim is successful, and those fees are regulated by law.

No one can guarantee your application will be approved, and anyone who promises fast-tracked approval
or a “special grant” in return for payment is not being honest.

Working with an experienced, licensed SSDI attorney is the best way to go to ensure the best chances of a favorable outcome and to prevent against fraudulent practices like asking for money up front. A licensed attorney will never do this.
